A-2 (D): FUZE
The A-2 (D) is an instantaneous impact nose fuze, typically fitted to Japanese WW2-era air-dropped bombs. The fuze is armed by the removal of an arming wire upon release of the bomb from a plane. Impact with a sold object causes a copper wire to shear, and a striker-primer assembly to move down to bear against a bayonet joint.
