The M170 was a World War Two (WW2)-era, US Army (US Army) developed, mechanical, delayed-arming, instantaneous-action, high-sensitivity, nose impact fuze. The M170 was known to have been used with; the M40 (AN-M40) and M72 series of fragmentation bombs. If utilised with a spotting charge the M170 could be used with the M71 and the M73 series fragmentation practice bombs, though these normally used an inert representative version of the fuze....
